Full-grain leather develops a patina — a deepening, richening of the surface colour and character that comes from the oils of regular handling, light exposure, and the gentle friction of daily use. A well-used leather bag at five years is more beautiful than a new one. At ten years, it's irreplaceable. This is a material property unique to genuine leather; no synthetic can replicate it.
Heavy canvas softens, conforms to the wearer's body, and develops a character that feels lived-in in the best possible sense.
